This was my greatest frustration in grad school (and I was in the US!). I was completely shut out of the military network. I had to have a friend send me the message that I got promoted!! Compound that with the fact that the military refuses to believe anyone owns a Mac computer...so frustrating. We now have the ability to log onto the network with our home computers, but only if you have a PC.
My favorite, by far, is when you go to PCS and you have to go to your Yeoman who has a password to get the "official mileage" for your move. I was like "you know Mapquest has already figured out your secret, right?"

I mean, they already have a copy of the US Army...
